In certain cases, the products may be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, service, and support policy (if available). Sybex Global assigns and transfers any manufacturer warranty to the customer. The customer acknowledges that they are solely entitled to recourse under such warranty as specified by the manufacturer of the products.


The company does not provide any express warranty or representation regarding the product except as stated in this document. Sybex Global disclaims all other warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Any implied warranty arising from statute, trade usage, course of dealing, or performance will be similarly disclaimed.


You acknowledge that Sybex Global does not guarantee that its services will: A. Meet your specific requirements; B. Be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; C. Provide accurate results or reliable data in processing information; D. Meet your expectations; E. Correct any errors in the program or software.


You understand and agree that any material downloaded or obtained through the use of Sybex Global's services is done at your own discretion and risk. Therefore, you are solely responsible for any claims, damages, or losses arising from the download of such material, including damage to your computer system, internet access, download or display device, or loss of data.No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained from Sybex Global will create any warranty unless expressly stated in the Terms and Conditions of Use (TCUS).


Under no circumstances will Sybex Global be liable for any indirect, direct, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the sale, installation, use, operation, service, or repair of any product. This includes any breach of warranty or contract, strict liability, negligence, or any other legal theory, regardless of whether Sybex Global was advised of the possibility of such damages.


Sybex Global expressly disclaims all legal liability related to personal injury or property loss arising from the use of products or services purchased from Sybex Global. This includes but is not limited to military, medical treatment, traffic control, disaster prevention, or related equipment.


The term "lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the product on the market. Outdated technology is not covered by the lifetime warranty. Therefore, the lifetime warranty is no longer applicable for items that have been discontinued..

OVERALL RETURN GUIDELINES


These are Sybex Global's ("Sybex Global," "we," or "our") Overall Return Guidelines applicable to products purchased directly from the Sybex Global website. All returns must adhere to these guidelines for the individual return policy to apply.

All product returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. You can obtain an RMA number by contacting Sybex Global Customer Service through the provided methods on our Contact Us page.

Returns for a refund may be subject to a restocking fee. For more information on refunds, partial refunds, and restocking fees, please refer to the corresponding page.Products that are new and unopened with their retail packaging intact can be returned to Sybex Global within 15 days, irrespective of the individual return policy. The following conditions disqualify a product from being eligible for return and may result in rejection:

  • Products not purchased from Sybex Global.
  • Products that do not match the stated reason for return (e.g., returning a fully functional product claimed as dead on arrival).
  • Products with missing, damaged, altered, or unreadable serial number labels, manufacturer model or part number labels, or warranty labels.
  • Products returned without the original packaging, accessories, manuals, cables, and other items included with the product. Refunds for returns received in this condition may be subject to a restocking fee or rejected.
  • Products with removed UPC codes from their packaging.
  • Products that exhibit physical damage. Please refer to our Report a Shipping Problem article for guidelines on handling damaged products which is not considered a return.
  • Products eligible for mail-in rebates
  • Products that appear tampered with, customized, or altered.

Please review the specific notes regarding your product:

Desktop PC, Notebooks, or Tablet PCs: A defective Desktop PC, Notebook, or Tablet PC that is returned for a replacement may be repaired or replaced at Sybex Global's sole discretion, unless otherwise required by law. While we aim to adhere to our standard RMA processing times, we cannot guarantee meeting these times, especially when the item needs to be sent to the manufacturer for repair. For inquiries about returning a Desktop PC, Notebook, or Tablet PC, please contact our Customer Service Department.

Certain computer systems may require pre-authorization from the manufacturer's technical support for an RMA to be authorized by Sybex Global. For computers with additional operating systems installed, we will provide a replacement or refund as noted in the above policy, as long as the original operating system is not corrupted or removed.

Televisions: For televisions with a screen size exceeding 37 inches: An adult (18 years or older) must sign the shipping courier's release form for delivery completion. We highly recommend inspecting the product upon delivery for visible damage. Reporting shipping damage for large items must occur within 48 HOURS of product delivery. Sybex Global will not accept damage reports made more than 48 HOURS after product delivery for replacement or refund. After delivery, please read all provided documentation or contact the manufacturer directly to determine applicable warranty coverage. To return a product shipped via Large Item Delivery, please contact Sybex Global's customer service department for return instructions.

Televisions and Monitor Dead Pixels: Televisions or Monitors with 8 or more dead pixels can be returned for a replacement within 30 days from the purchase date.

Point of Sale Products: Certain items are non-returnable, including software, custom labels, and opened supplies (such as labels, ribbons, receipt paper, receipt ribbons, print heads, card stock, RFID tags).

Special order products are not eligible for return.

Products returned with customer-made markings or writing on the original box are not eligible for return.

Items covered by this policy (products for which Sybex Global states "This service or extended warranty can only be returned for a refund within 30 days if the service or warranty has not been used or redeemed.") can be returned if the service or warranty has not been used or redeemed. A return must be initiated by Sybex Global within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply.

INTERNATIONAL RETURN POLICY

Defective or damaged products covered by Sybex Global's International Return Policy must have an RMA number issued by Sybex Global within 15 days from the delivery date for this policy to apply. If a non-defective product is returned, it will either be returned to the customer or the return shipping cost initially covered by Sybex Global will be deducted from the refund amount, along with any necessary restocking fee. ADDITIONAL RETURN INFORMATION


Configurator Bundles: Items sold as part of a Configurator Bundle may be returned individually for replacement within the applicable Sybex Global Return Policy Period for that specific item.Items sold as part of a Configurator Bundle cannot be returned for a refund. Combo and Kit Specials: Combo and Kit Specials consist of two or more items that must be purchased together to receive a discount.

Items sold as part of a Combo or Kit may be returned individually for replacement within the applicable Sybex Global Return Policy Period for that specific item.If an individual Combo or Kit item is returned for a refund, the discount will be voided, and the discounted amount will be deducted from the refund. If the discount exceeds the individual unit price of the item being returned, the item cannot be returned for a refund. In such cases, all items in the combo/kit must be returned to receive a refund. For example, if a $5 discount was applied to a combo/kit, and one item is returned for a refund, the $5 will be deducted from the refund amount.

Out-of-Stock (Back-Order) Items: If Sybex Global no longer carries an item or if it is out of stock when returned for replacement, Sybex Global will issue a refund. If the item is returned within 30 days of the original invoice date, a full refund will be issued. If the item is returned after 30 days, a store credit refund at the current market value of the product will be issued. The refund amount for current-market-value may not exceed the original invoice price.

Quantity Purchases


Orders of ten (10) or more of the same item are considered non-refundable upon completion of purchase. All other specific conditions related to the ordered item still apply, including any available replacement return policies. For questions, please contact Customer Service.
